WEST Coast superstar Ella Roberts has won an incredible third straight club champion award in just her fifth season, with the gun midfielder becoming the first three-time medallist in the Eagles' AFLW history.Â
Roberts, whose season ended in devastating fashion when she suffered an ACL injury in last Saturday night's loss against Hawthorn, polled 93 votes to win from co-captain Charlie Thomas (82) and midfielder Jaide Britton (77).Â
Co-captain Bella Lewis and veteran defender Emma Swanson rounded out the top five, tying on 76 votes, while key forward Amy Franklin was one vote behind in recognition of her terrific season.Â
Roberts is one of only two multiple winners of the Eagles' AFLW club champion award alongside dual winner Swanson, who won back-to-back medals in the two seasons of 2022.Â
She won her record third while still aged 21, with the skilful and courageous midfielder celebrated for her remarkable rise at a gala event at Crown Perth on Friday night.Â
Roberts also collected the players' Trademark Award and was voted the Fans' MVP for the second straight season.Â
A dual All-Australian, Roberts was this week named in the 2026 squad of 42 after a season that saw her average 21.7 disposals, 5.8 tackles and a career-high five clearances while dealing with heavy opposition attention.Â
She claimed her second Derby Medal following a dominant performance in the Eagles' first ever AFLW win against Fremantle, while also hitting a career-high 34 disposals and 11 clearances against Brisbane in round five.Â
Thomas finished runner-up for the third consecutive year, with her ability to intercept and launch the Eagles' attack remaining a strength.Â
Only six votes separated third place and 10th, with Franklin, Lucia Painter, Zoe Wakfer and Charlotte Riggs among the young Eagles to have a big impact on 2026 with top-10 finishes.Â
Second-year Eagle Riggs was particularly exciting with her developing ruck work and aerial attack on the ball, winning the Emerging Talent Award, while retiring ruck Liz McGrath was named Best Club Person.Â
The club celebrated inaugural AFLW Eagles Belinda Smith and Sophie McDonald after they announced their retirements, while outgoing head of football Michelle Cowan was recognised for her significant contribution to the program as she moves into a new role. Â
