AS COACHES count down to the start of the NAB AFL Fantasy finals, weekly trades are being used in many different ways.

Some teams will need to continue to make their moves around injuries, suspensions or omissions to field a 22.

Calvin complains weekly that he has forced trades every round and last week, he needed to take an on-field zero.

Looking back, it didn’t matter as he had Todd Goldstein as his captain and had just picked up Gary Ablett.

Team Calvinator gained 526 points from those two players alone on his way to 2309.

Warnie is in a bit of a pickle. He doesn’t have many cash cows worth milking and he needs to be creative with his trades in the run home. He picked up Ablett last week but sacrificed a position on his field in order to gain his massive points.

The news of Dayne Beams’ ongoing shoulder issues means he is on the chopping block for the Warne Dawgs.

A trade from Beams to the in-form Steele Sidebottom will net Warnie $78,000. Although Beams is likely to play, the cash in the bank will be handy in the coming weeks to fix other positions on his ground.

As for Roy, he is keeping his cards close to his chest. The coach ranked 99th overall will probably be looking to bring Ablett in this week before the great man ticks over $600,000 in value.
