Melbourne has made five changesahead of Sunday's clash with the Western Bulldogs after losing Dom Tyson to a knee injury on Friday.

The Demons have lost three players through injury from last week's humiliating loss to Hawthorn, including Tyson who was withdrawn from the squad after being named in the initial 25 on Thursday.

Chris Dawes misses with a calf injury and Christian Salem with a hamstring while Viv Michie and Billy Stretch have been omitted.

Jack Watts is back after a one-week self-imposed VFL exile along with Jesse Hogan, Ben Newton, Aidan Riley and Jack Fitzpatrick.

Western Bulldogs coach Luke Beveridge still can't find a place for either veteran ruckman Will Minson or youngster Jack Macrae.

The Dogs have made just one change with former Sydney Swan Shane Biggs coming in for his first game as a Bulldog. He replaces Mitch Honeychurch who is out with general soreness.

Essendon has named experienced trio Paul Chapman, Adam Cooney and Jake Carlisle for Sunday's clash with the Brisbane Lions at Etihad Stadium.

Jason Ashby (shoulder) and Kyle Langford (quad) are the casualties while Shaun McKernan has been omitted.

Claye Beams returns to the Brisbane Lions side after being a late withdrawal from their win over Port Adelaide last week. Liam Dawson will make his debut for the club after four goals in the NEAFL last week.

Tom Cutler is out with a minor ankle sprain while Mitch Golby has been omitted.

Port Adelaide has regained Ollie Wines, Alipate Carlile and Sam Gray for Kane Cornes' 300th and final AFL game on Sunday.

The Power have dropped Cam O'Shea, Kane Mitchell and Matthew Broadbent for the clash with Richmond at Adelaide Oval.

The Tigers have regained Shane Edwards from a minor calf problem and Ben Griffiths also returns.

Griffiths, Ty Vickery and Jack Riewoldt will play together for the first time since round 12 last year.

Todd Elton and Liam McBean have both missed out.
