JARROD Harbrow's immediate playing future remains in limbo with the Gold Coast half-back still waiting to hear the details of his club-imposed drink driving punishment.

The Suns suspended the 28-year-old from Saturday's 16-point win over Hawthorn at the MCG after he was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol last Monday morning.

He also faces legal sanctions for his actions that came after drinking at home on Sunday night.

Gold Coast expected to be in a position to inform Harbrow of his final punishment before the weekend, but coach Rodney Eade said on Saturday there were still elements to finalise.

"I can't comment on that," Eade said, when asked if he expected Harbrow would be available for Saturday night's clash with Carlton.

"[Finalising the punishment] will be done over the weekend, I think.

"We've met as a group, the key stakeholders … and that's with the CEO and other people up above.

"I think it's just about done but there's just a few finer points."

A remorseful and embarrassed Harbrow said during the week he would abstain from alcohol for the rest of the season after blowing more than double the legal limit.
