EXCITING Collingwood forward Kayle Kirby is unlikely to play football again this season as he deals with a heart condition.

He will complete light exercise over that period and will be monitored by the Magpies' medical staff and his cardiologist.

Kirby, 19, collapsed on-field in a VFL practice match against North Melbourne in March at the Holden Centre.

He made his debut in the final round of 2017, picking up four disposals in the 16-point win against Melbourne.

Kirby was drafted at No.50 in 2016 and his original two-year contract expires at the end of the season.

Kirby is not the only player afflicted by a heart concern this year, with St Kilda defender Dylan Roberton unable to play again in 2018 after collapsing on-field in the round four clash against Geelong.
