Curtly Hampton's name is likely to come up at the selection table, after the former Giant turned in a strong showing.

Hampton kicked three goals and had 23 disposals, six tackles, six clearances, five inside 50s and three marks.

Matthew Signorello (24 disposals, seven clearances, seven marks, four tackles) and rookie Patrick Wilson (19 disposals, four marks, four rebound 50ms, three clearances) also worked tirelessly.

Ben Davis, the Crows' final pick on draft night in 2016, booted three goals.

Brisbane Lions

A host of players put their hand up for senior selection in the Lions' upset loss to Sydney.

Former Blue Tom Bell continued his strong form at the lower level, so too did Ryan Lester

Ex-Magpie defender Jack Frost, big man Archie Smith, as well as Ben Keays and Liam Dawson, were all among the better players.

Lester, who has not been able to regain his spot in the senior team since being omitted for round seven, and versatile tall Jacob Allison, both kicked two goals.

Carlton

This weekend: Northern Blues v Essendon - Saturday, May 26, 1pm, Ikon Park

Young forward Jack Silvagni didn't hit the scoreboard but found plenty of the footy, finishing with 23 disposals in Carlton's 73-point loss to Essendon.

Silvagni has struggled for consistency this year, playing four senior games including a three-game stretch from rounds four to six.

Jarrod Garlett finished with 17 touches, while inexperienced ruck/forward Tom De Koning kicked two goals.

It was a dirty day for the Blues, with Tom Williamson (head knock), Nick Graham (calf tightness) and Harrison Macreadie (hamstring tightness) failing to finish the match.

Collingwood

This weekend: Footscray v Collingwood - Saturday, May 26, 11am, VU Whitten Oval

An eight-goal final term earned Collingwood a come-from-behind 32-point win over Footscray.

Rookie Brody Mihocek, who played the majority of his football for VFL side Port Melbourne in defence before this season, was moved forward and kicked two goals.

Fellow rookie Adam Oxley was steady in the backline and big-bodied midfielder Rupert Wills dominated around the stoppages.

It wasn't all great news for the Pies, with Sam McLarty (foot) and Brayden Sier (adductor) failing to run out the game.

They will both be assessed later this week.

The duo had been pushing for a senior debut over the past month, dominating their VFL matches.

Carlton

This weekend: Northern Blues v Essendon - Saturday, May 26, 1pm, Ikon Park

Young gun Darcy Parish racked up 28 possessions in Essendon's big win over the Northern Blues. He also took 13 marks and laid six tackles.

Rookie Ben McNeice won heaps of the ball (30 touches) and provided plenty of run from the backline, while talented defender Aaron Francis (19 disposals, nine marks) was again impressive, as he builds towards a return to senior level.

Versatile tall Mitch Brown (four goals, 20 possessions and 10 marks) enjoyed a day out in the front half of the ground.

Josh Green and Matthew Leuenberger both added two majors.

Fremantle

This weekend: East Fremantle v Peel Thunder - Saturday, May 26, 2.15pm, East Fremantle Oval

Injury-prone midfielder Harley Bennell took another step in his return from an ongoing calf issue, getting through his third game back unscathed.

Playing predominantly in the centre of the ground, Bennell collected 16 disposals and kicked a goal, before spending much of the second half untroubled on the bench.

After just missing out on being named for his AFL debut, rookie Stefan Giro amassed 34 possessions.

Big man Michael Apeness (20 disposals, 32 hit-outs, one goal) was again a star performer, while Shane KerstenTommy SheridanEthan Hughes and Taylin Duman all worked hard.

Geelong Cats

This weekend: Geelong v Williamstown - Saturday, May 26, 11am, GMHBA Stadium

Rookie defender Mark O'Connor was named best for Geelong in its 34-point win over Williamstown.

O'Connor has played just three AFL games, with the round two loss to Hawthorn his most recent.

James Parsons responded well from his omission from the senior side to finish with 30 disposals and a goal.

Young Cat Sam Simpson's form continues to build in his return from a knee injury, picking up 28 touches, seven marks and a goal.

Tall Wylie Buzza and small Gryan Miers kicked two goals apiece, while Zach Guthrie led the way in defence with nine marks.

Dropped ruckman Zac Smith had 17 hit-outs and seven tackles.

George Horlin-Smith and Aaron Black didn't play - they were held over as emergencies. Black was a late inclusion for Geelong’s senior side on Saturday night.

Jeremy Finlayson responded to his omission from the Giants' round 10 AFL clash with Essendon in style, gathering 25 possessions and kicking two goals.

Giants Academy graduate Zachary Sproule played a blinder, picking up 34 disposals, taking 11 marks and laying four tackles.

Aiden Bonar (31 touches), Sam Taylor (33 possessions and two goals) and Isaac Cumming (33 disposals, 10 marks and two goals) were also in Giants' best in their 65-point win.

Hawthorn

This weekend: North Melbourne v Box Hill Hawks - Saturday, May 26, 2.10pm, Avalon Airport Oval 

Daniel Howe had a day out in Box Hill's 36-point loss to North Melbourne, picking up 26 disposals, 10 marks, five clearances and kicking two goals.

The midfielder played eight straight AFL games before being dropped in the mass casualties after Hawthorn's loss to Sydney.

Teia Miles' strong VFL form continued with another 24 disposals. He has not managed a game this season after playing four last year.

Kieran Lovell and Jonathan O'Rourke had 22 apiece, while the experienced Brendan Whitecross continues to plug away in the VFL, kicking two goals.

Rookie duo Oliver Hanrahan and Conor Nash kicked two apiece, while Ryan Schoenmakers managed one.

Melbourne

State league affiliate: Casey Demons (VFL)
This weekend: Port Melbourne v Casey Demons - Saturday, May 26, 2pm, North Port Oval

Midfielder Billy Stretch led all comers with 29 disposals in Casey's tightly fought 15-point win over Port Melbourne.  

Fellow midfielder Jay Kennedy-Harris, who has struggled to break into the senior side over the past few years, had 24 touches and kicked two goals.

Dom Tyson (27 disposals and two) was also very busy, responding well from his omission from the senior side this week.

Recruit Harley Balic's strong vein of VFL goalkicking form continued with another three; he's now kicked 12 in his past five matches.

North Melbourne

This weekend: North Melbourne v Box Hill Hawks - Saturday, May 26, 2.10pm, Avalon Airport Oval 

Young forward Nick Larkey kicked five goals in North Melbourne's upset 36-point win over Box Hill. It takes his VFL total to 19 this season.

Fellow forward and rookie Cam Zurhaar was also prominent, kicking four and finishing with 18 disposals.

Draftee Kyron Hayden, who plays in the midfield, had 23 disposals, while Paul Ahern continued his slow and steady comeback from two knee reconstructions with 22 touches.

Port Adelaide

This weekend: Port Adelaide v North Adelaide - Saturday, May 26, 2.10pm, Alberton Oval

Jasper Pittard and Jack Trengove were Port's best in its sorry showing against North Adelaide.

Pittard, who has played 116 AFL games, but just one in 2018, had 30 disposals and 10 marks.

Trengove, who is still awaiting his Port Adelaide debut after 86 games with Melbourne, gathered 29 possessions.

Todd Marshall, who was returning from compassionate leave, copped a knock to his AC joint during the third term and sat out the rest of the match, but the young forward has been cleared of any serious damage.

Cameron Hewett (25 touches) and Dom Barry (23) were the next best for the Magpies in their 79-point loss, while Lindsay Thomas kicked two of their four goals.

Richmond

This weekend: Richmond v Coburg - Saturday, May 26, 10.45am, Swinburne Centre 

Sam Lloyd's return to the lower level may only be a fleeting one after the 28-year-old starred for the Tigers in their huge win over Coburg.

A casualty of Richmond's round nine AFL loss to West Coast, Lloyd had 34 possessions, 11 clearances and four goals.

Corey Ellis (28 disposals) and rookie Liam Baker (28 and a goal) also shone for Richmond. 

Noah Balta and Callum Coleman-Jones each kicked three goals, while Jacob Townsend slotted two.

St Kilda

State league affiliate: Sandringham (VFL)
This weekend: Sandringham v Werribee - Sunday, May 27, 2pm, Trevor Barker Beach Oval 

Veteran David Armitage had the ball on a string in Sandringham's 51-point win over Werribee.

Armitage, who was dropped for St Kilda's round 10 AFL clash with Richmond, dominated in the midfield with 40 possessions.

Talented young forward Josh Battle kicked three goals, so too did Irish rookie Ray Connellan

Darren Minchington could be in the frame for a call up to St Kilda's team to take on West Coast in Perth on Saturday night after he gathered 24 touches and kicked a goal. 

Nathan Wright (24 possessions) was another Saint to put his hand up for a promotion.

Sydney Swans

This weekend: Brisbane v Sydney - Saturday, May 26, 11.30am, South Pine Sports Complex 

Nic Newman is banging on the door for a call up to AFL level.

Following a best-on-ground display against Southport last week, Newman was again outstanding for the Swans in their 16-point win.

The 25-year-old found the footy 29 times, kicked two goals and laid seven tackles.

Dan Robinson won a team-high 36 touches, rookie Robbie Fox had 33 and eight tackles, while Irishman Colin O’Riordan picked up 26 and added a goal.

Dean Towers (22 possessions and a goal), Darcy Cameron (13 and a goal) and Aliir Aliir (18) were also strong contributors

Rookie Joel Amartey, who kicked four goals last week, booted two.

West Coast Eagles

State league affiliate: East Perth (WAFL)
This weekend: East Perth v Swan Districts - Saturday, May 26, 1.40pm, Leederville Oval

South Australian midfielder Luke Partington won a game-high 33 disposals in East Perth's loss at Leederville Oval.

Partington, who has played six games for the Eagles, but none in 2018, finished with 19 kicks and 14 handballs, as well as seven tackles and a goal.

Rookie Fraser McInnes (15 touches, 28 hit outs, one goal) was good in the ruck, but Nathan Vardy – returning from adductor problems – was quiet.

Speedster Jack Petruccelle booted three goals and athletic power forward Matthew Allen chimed in with two.

Western Bulldogs

State league affiliate: Footscray (VFL)
This weekend: Footscray v Collingwood - Saturday, May 26, 11am, VU Whitten Oval

Defensive pair Dale Morris and Marcus Adams got through their second consecutive match in their returns from injury.

Morris, who suffered a partial ACL tear in February, looked comfortable across half-back, while Adams had surgery for a syndesmosis ankle injury on the eve of the season.

Adams played the first half forward but looked much more comfortable when sent to full-back in the second half.

Omitted trio Mitch Wallis, Lukas Webb and Josh Dunkley were all prominent in the 32-point loss.

Wallis (27 disposals, one goal) was the pick of the bunch, with Webb (26 and one) and Dunkley (17) impressing in patches.

Lewis Young, who was dropped ahead of round nine, played well to finish with 25 touches, while Fletcher Roberts and Mitch Honeychurch kicked two each.
