THE AFL will continue its trial of potential new rules this Saturday in the VFL with starting positions to be enforced for centre square bounces.
The match between Coburg and Werribee will also feature a larger goalsquare for kick-outs.
The set up of six midfielders, six forwards and six defenders will be applied for bounces at the start of each quarter and after goals, but not for other stoppages including boundary throw-ins and around the ground ball ups during the game.
For interested viewers, Channel Seven will broadcast the match in Victoria from 2pm AEST.
AFL Victoria has offered Saturday's match at Piranha Park to be used as part of on-going research into possible rule alterations.

"The AFL was given a clear message by the Competition Committee and each of the clubs we have met with so far that all parties need to see much more data on how one to two key considerations that we are potentially looking at for AFL games in the future, may look when in action for a full game," AFL football operations manager Steve Hocking said.
"The AFL is greatly appreciative of the offer by AFL Victoria and the respective clubs in Coburg and Werribee to trial these considerations in an VFL match.
"It will provide us with a valuable opportunity to make a much more detailed assessment of how these two trial considerations work over a full game."
A second VFL game trial is a possibility if the AFL deems it necessary.
AFL Victoria CEO Steven Reaper said the competition was happy to offer one of its live games as part of search to improve football.
"The pleasing aspect for us was the support of the clubs involved, with Coburg FC one of the first to signal their interest to assist the AFL with a demonstration of the proposed rules," Reaper said.
"They were keen to assist in the off season, but when we offered them the chance do the trial in season they were really positive and excited about it."
Coburg has won just one game this season and is on the bottom of the ladder while Werribee has won four matches and is 12th.
The Competition Committee will meet again on a date to be set in September.
