FREMANTLE won't accept Brisbane's first-round selection on its own in exchange for midfielder Lachie Neale, says CEO Steve Rosich.

Speaking on NAB AFL Trade Radio, Rosich said the club would play hardball if an offer came in for the contracted Docker.

LIONS CLOSING IN Five-year, $4m Neale deal

"I don't normally go down the path of discussing those things (hypothetical situations) … but if Brisbane saw fit to offer that pick (Brisbane's first pick, currently No.4), we wouldn't be accepting of it," Rosich said.

"Our first, second and third preference is to retain Lachie. It's not something we've given a lot of thought to at this stage."

Fremantle is keen to add to its key position stocks, particularly up forward, to assist young Dockers Brennan Cox, Matt Taberner and Cam McCarthy, Rosich said.

GWS ruckman Rory Lobb is eager to return to Western Australia and the Dockers are working hard to secure the services of the tall Giant.

INDICATIVE DRAFT ORDER Your club's picks

"Once we've got an indication from Rory that he would like to join our footy club then the next step will be to sit down with GWS and see if something can be worked out," Rosich said.

"We'd like to get to that position, and if not, there's potential to try again next year."

Although Rosich confirmed that the Dockers met with Demon Jesse Hogan, he conceded that a there was still a lot to play out before any move would be made for the Melbourne forward.

"Firstly he (Hogan) needs to make the call that he's interested in coming to Fremantle," Rosich said.

"We're not close to having a conversation with Melbourne just yet."
