ADELAIDE expects prime mover Matt Crouch to be available for next weekend's clash with Brisbane at the Gabba after he failed to finish Showdown 46 with a hip injury.

Crouch left the game early in the third quarter of Saturday night's 20-point win against Port Adelaide at Adelaide Oval.

The midfielder had 19 disposals, including 10 contested possessions, before he was ruled out for the rest of the game.

"Matt sustained a heavy contusion early in the game to his left hip," Crows Science and Medical Services Coordinator Steve Saunders told afc.com.au.

"He was able to continue for a period of time, but was then removed from play.

"We will reassess his progress tomorrow and plan his week's training from there.

"We expect him to make sufficient progress to be available for next week's game."

The Crows (5-3) will be aiming for their eighth consecutive win against the Lions, having not lost to the Queensland-based side since round 21, 2012.

Coach Don Pyke's team has also won four straight this season to move into the top four for the first time this year.

The Crows have dramatically turned around their form following a disappointing round four loss to North Melbourne.

They are keeping opposition teams to low scores and are willing to win ugly, in stark contrast to the high-scoring style they played in 2017 en route to reaching the Grand Final.

"I think the game's changed," Pyke told reporters after beating the Power.

"You have a look at the scores, there's not many games that have scores over 100 (points).

"Sides' defensive actions have become really strong and scoring is difficult, that's just the reality of the game we're playing.

"If we don't adapt to that and continue to try and play a style we've been known for a couple of years ago (we will fall behind).

"A couple of years ago, our contested ball numbers were really strong and that was what epitomised us as a team.

"Those numbers are returning to the levels we want to get."

GAMEBREAKER  Lynch trifecta secures victory for Crows

Defender Alex Keath collected the Showdown Medal after an outstanding performance, racking up 26 disposals, 14 contested possessions and seven rebound 50s.

Keath said the Crows had to hold their nerve as the Power surged late with five consecutive goals in the final quarter.

"They were coming really hard in the last quarter," Keath said.

"When they got some ball movement in the middle of the ground, they were looking really dangerous."
