RICHMOND'S torrid injury run has continued with ruckman Ivan Soldo ruled out of Thursday night's crunch clash with Adelaide due to a virus.

He has been replaced by Mabior Chol.

The 23-year-old is the Tigers' second-string ruckman behind Toby Nankervis, who has been sidelined by an adductor problem and is expected to miss another month.

Among those out include Richmond's entire leadership group: Trent Cotchin (hamstring), Jack Riewoldt (knee) and Alex Rance (knee).

Then there's key defender David Astbury (hamstring), Shane Edwards (hamstring), Kane Lambert (Achilles), Jayden Short (elbow) and impressive youngster Jack Ross (ankle).

Superstar Dustin Martin has been named captain for the clash at Adelaide Oval but copped a corkie in the heavy defeat to ladder leader Geelong last week, while Nick Vlastuin is battling a hip issue but has been named.

Chol hasn't featured in the AFL since his debut in the final round of 2016, when the Tigers were pumped by Sydney.

Richmond is seventh on the ladder at 7-5, the same as the Crows, but with a relatively meagre percentage of 94.5.

The Crows are unchanged for Thursday night's clash.
