ADELAIDE has dropped a selection bombshell, dumping champion forward Eddie Betts to the SANFL in the wake of its third defeat in four games.
The 32-year-old was goalless in all of those losses, with a six-goal throwback performance against Gold Coast wedged in between.
Betts, who is contracted for the 2020 season, kicked between 51 and 75 goals in his first four years at West Lakes, but is struggling to reach those same heights.

The Crows also dropped out-of-contract midfielder Hugh Greenwood and lost key defender Alex Keath, who's being managed for Saturday's clash with Carlton at the MCG.
Tyson Stengle, Patrick Wilson and Andy Otten are Adelaide's incoming trio, while the Blues brought in Andrew Phillips for fellow ruckman Matthew Kreuzer (managed).

Elsewhere, Port Adelaide axed Charlie Dixon, the Power's opponent Greater Western Sydney regained co-captain Phil Davis, Fremantle named superstar Nat Fyfe to return from injury and Demon Steven May (hamstring) and Bomber Dyson Heppell (foot) are out.
Neither Jack Steven nor Dan Hannebery are in for St Kilda, while Tiger Josh Caddy will spend a third straight week in the VFL honing his new defensive role.
Richmond instead went with an unchanged line-up for Friday night's much-anticipated showdown with Collingwood.
Jamie Elliott, Matt Scharenberg, Josh Thomas and Josh Daicos are the Magpies' four inclusions, with Brayden Sier (calf) and James Aish (shoulder) among the outs.
Defender Grant Birchall (soreness) is named to return for Hawthorn, replacing Jarman Impey (knee), as the Hawks seek revenge against the Chris Fagan-led Lions.
Josh Walker is in for Brisbane, which will have to do without suspended backman Harris Andrews.
Taylor Garner will get an instant chance to redeem himself for his club suspension, promoted for North Melbourne's must-win game against West Coast at Optus Stadium on Saturday.
Luke Davies-Uniacke and Paul Ahern are also in, with Scott Thompson (ruptured testicle), Kayne Turner (rested) and Nathan Hrovat (dropped) making way.
The Eagles recalled premiership defender Will Schofield at Tom Cole's expense.
Braydon Preuss and Jay Lockhart join May in being out for Melbourne ahead of Saturday night's match against St Kilda.
Oskar Baker, forgotten defender Oscar McDonald and Tim Smith take their place, while Ben Long takes Matt Parker's spot at the Saints.
Dixon's shock omission at Port Adelaide comes as Steven Motlop also goes out of the side in preference of Paddy Ryder and youngster Joel Garner.
The Giants made three changes for the date with the Power, adding Davis, Adam Kennedy and Jackson Hately, with Brett Deledio managed for the trip to Adelaide Oval.
Fyfe is one of five possible inclusions at Fremantle for its Sunday game against the Western Bulldogs, who have confirmed Dale Morris will return and Rhylee West – son of Scott – will make his debut.
Matthew Suckling (hip) and Josh Schache (concussion) are out for the Dogs.
Geelong ruckman Zac Smith is set to play just his second senior match for the year against Sydney on Sunday, with the Cats to make at least two changes.
Scott Selwood and Lachie Henderson are other potential additions as cover for Zach Tuohy and Gary Rohan, who were both managed.
The Swans have lost Will Hayward (hip), but Jordan Dawson, Daniel Menzel and Kieren Jack are among the possible replacements.
