GOLD Coast co-captain Jarrod Witts has undergone surgery on a left foot injury, but the club says he will be ready to roll for round one.
Witts, the reigning club champion, suffered the injury while training over the Christmas break.
The Suns are hopeful he may even be available during the Marsh Community pre-season series.

"It was a really innocuous and unfortunate incident for Jarrod," general manager of football operations Jon Haines said.
Witts has been a model of consistency since heading north from Collingwood at the end of 2016, playing 62 of a possible 66 games, and not missing a game in the past two seasons.
The rest of the Suns' list is coming together, with Jarrod Harbrow, Anthony Miles, Sam Day and Nick Holman all set to re-join the main training group in the next fortnight.
Full-back Rory Thompson, who is overcoming a ruptured ACL, is progressing with his running and also expected to resume full training shortly.
"Overall we're really pleased with where the group is at physically," Haines said.
