TWO SIGNIFICANT injuries have soured Hawthorn'sprocession towards a massive win against St Kilda at the MCG on Saturdayafternoon.

Midfielder Sam Mitchell was taken to the rooms duringthe first term and substituted out of the match at quarter-time with a righthamstring strain, while full-backBrian Lake appeared to have suffered a recurrence of a calf injury from earlierin the season.

Mitchell appears likely to miss being reunited withformer teammate Lance Franklin when the Sydney Swans travel to face the Hawksat the MCG in round eight.

Lake pulled up short andcould barely walk off the ground during the third term.

He battled a calf injurywhile he was serving a three-game suspension from last year’s Grand Final.
