MELBOURNE'S third greatest games record holder, Adem Yze, says he is adamant he will continue playing football next year, preferably with the Demons, but if not he is prepared to head to a rival AFL club or play at another level.

Yze, one of Melbourne's most consistent performers during Neale Daniher's coaching reign, has played just four matches this season in the red and blue, having spent the rest of his time with Sandringham in the VFL.

But the man who played 226 consecutive matches from 1997-2007 told melbournefc.com.au he would ideally stay with the club he loves.

"I haven't really thought about what I'm going to do yet next year, other than I'm going to keep playing footy, whether that's here or at another [AFL] club or whether it's in the VFL or somewhere else," Yze said.

"My body is feeling really good, so I'm happy to keep going."

Yze said if Melbourne was not an option next season, he said a club in the finals hunt or pressing for a flag could be the right move.

"If the Melbourne footy club doesn't want to keep me, then I'm actually hoping there might be a club out there that's looking to top up their list and have a crack at one, so that's exactly why I'm playing as well as I can at Sandy and still trying to push to play seniors here," Yze said.

"I don't feel like it is game over in my body and mind. I'm not just going to play somewhere next year – I feel like I could play for another two or three years, but time will tell what happens there."
