The Brisbane Lions have recalled experienced pair Jamie Charman and Jared Brennan for Friday night’s clash with the Magpies.
After a week at state league level, Charman is back to replace injured big man Matthew Leuenberger, who injured his knee against the Swans last week and is expected to miss three months.
Brennan booted seven goals against the Magpies two years back and he comes in for Albert Proud.
Jaxson Barham, the son of former Collingwood great Ricky, will make his AFL debut as part of four changes for the Magpies.
Upon leaving for Brisbane on Thursday, the Pies confirmed that the ankle-troubled Rocca would play his first senior match since round 13 last year.
Tyson Goldsack and Alan Toovey have also been given opportunities to fill the holes left by Ben Johnson (broken leg) and suspended pair Nick Maxwell and Heath Shaw. Brad Dick has been dropped.
Sydney Swans coach Paul Roos is showing faith in his team as it faces up to the Blues.
The Swans have been forced to make one change, with elevated rookie Kristin Thornton coming in to replace the injured Jared Crouch (hamstring).
Barry Hall has been passed fit to play while Luke Ablett, Mike Pyke and Ryan Brabazon are emergencies for the unusually-scheduled Saturday afternoon clash at the SCG.
Carlton has tweaked the side that was defeated by the Bombers last week with half-back Dennis Armfield selected for his first game of the season at the expense of goal-sneak Jeff Garlett.
Heath Scotland, Setanta O'hAilpin and Steven Browne are the emergencies.
Alan Toovey and Tyson Goldsack have also earned recalls, while Brad Dick has been omitted. Nick Maxwell, Heath Shaw (both suspended) and Ben Johnson (broken leg) are the forced changes.
Despite being able to recall some big guns, Hawthorn isn’t too much closer to having its full complement back on deck as it prepares for Saturday’s clash with the Power.
The Hawks have been boosted with midfielder Jordan Lewis set to play his first game of 2009 after recovering from a shoulder injury. He will be joined by Brad Sewell and big men Robbie Campbell and Simon Taylor.
But that good news has been tempered for Alastair Clarkson, with injuries to Grant Birchall (thumb), Xavier Ellis (foot) and Stephen Gilham (knee).
Gilham only played his first match of the season last week – after being out with a left knee complaint – but will miss again. First-year player Ryan Schoenmakers is the other omission, with the promising draftee set to play in the VFL.
Port Adelaide has named first-round draft pick (No. 4 overall) Hamish Hartlett for his first AFL game. The Power made two changes as they look to cover the loss of skipper Domenic Cassisi and Peter Burgoyne through suspension. Tom Logan is their second inclusion.
St Kilda is flying and, with no injuries arising out of the big win over the Eagles, the Saints will go unchanged into Saturdays clash against Fremantle.
However, Fremantle has made two changes to the side that faded against Adelaide last Sunday, with Greg Broughton (ankle) injured on debut and youngster Clayton Hinkley omitted.
The backline gets a much-needed boost with Roger Hayden overcoming a hamstring injury while Paul Duffield has been given another chance after a good week in the WAFL.
Adelaide has made two forced changes ahead of its clash with the Cats. Bock returns after his club-imposed suspension and Robert Shirley comes in for his first game of the season. Nick Gill (hamstring) and Scott Stevens (concussion) could not be considered.
Brad Moran, Jonathon Griffin and Jarrhan Jacky are the emergencies.
Geelong has made just the one change for its trip to AAMI Stadium, in what will be Gary Ablett’s 150th senior match.

Cameron Ling appears over his ankle problem, with Tom Lonergan, Ryan Gamble and David Johnson on standby.
North Melbourne is set to blood lively half-forward Ben Warren for Sunday’s clash with Essendon at Docklands.
The Kangaroos, desperate to rebound from last week’s disappointing loss to Hawthorn, have named the 20-year-old to start on the field while another potential debutant could also push to play his first AFL match.
Levi Greenwood is on North Melbourne’s extended interchange and may yet come into the side. The Roos are certain to make at least two changes in place of Daniel Wells (hip) and Corey Jones, who has paid the price for his form.
Experienced midfielder Daniel Harris could play his first game of the year, while Ed Lower and Todd Goldstein are also in the Roos' 25-man squad.
Essendon will make at least two changes after dropping Heath Hocking and David Myers. Adam McPhee returns from suspension and is named at centre half-back while Mark McVeigh, Sam Lonergan, Michael Quinn and Nathan Lovett-Murray are on the extended bench.
Richmond coach Terry Wallace has lost patience with Tambling and Schulz who were the only omissions from his extended squad named. Debutant Andrew Collins goes straight into the starting 18 while Jarrad Oakley-Nicholls, Jordan McMahon, Daniel Connors and Robin Nahas appear on a seven-man bench.
Melbourne is yet to make any omissions as it searches for its first win of the season, but has named Michael Newton on a half-forward flank and Addam Maric and Jake Spencer in its 25.

Brent Staker and veteran David Wirrpanda appear likely to come into the line-up for their clash with the Bulldogs, but official omissions will wait until Friday.
Will Schofield has also been included in West Coast’s 25-man squad.
The Western Bulldogs will be without Adam Cooney for the clash after the Brownlow Medallist underwent a minor knee clean-up mid-week.
Expected to sideline him for just one week, Andrejs Everitt, Jarrad Grant, Jarrod Harbrow and Sam Reid have been added as possible replacements.
