EMERGING Adelaide midfielder Riley Knight will miss up to three months of football after undergoing ankle surgery.

Knight suffered damage to ligaments in his ankle early in the week at training.

He was seen at West Lakes on Wednesday in a moonboot.

The 19-year-old second-year player impressed Crows’ coaches with his development in the SANFL last season and finished runner-up with rookie Jake Kelly in the side’s best and fairest count.

The setback puts a serious dent in Knight’s ambition to make a senior debut in 2015.
