WEST Coast premiership defender Will Schofield continues to weigh up whether he will join teammates in the Gold Coast hub due to family and business priorities.

The 31-year-old, who last year signed a reduced one-year deal for 2020, is yet to determine if he'll board the Eagles' chartered flight for their season restart on June 13.

Coach Adam Simpson said on Friday the Eagles were hoping to take their entire squad for the four weeks of scheduled games in Queensland before the need to reassess.

However, given Schofield's young family, reduced pay at 50 per cent for April-October and outside business interests – he runs a wine delivery business with ex-Eagle Chris Masten – he may opt to remain in Perth.

The veteran was named as an emergency for round one against Melbourne.

"It's up to the individual and their personal circumstances, we've got lots of players with young children," Simpson said.

"I know it sounds like 'Just get on with it and get over there and just play', (but) everyone's got a different situation, including staff.

"There's a fair bit of organising you've got to do and that's obviously with your family and financially how you sit and what you've got going outside the club.

"Someone like Will is going to weigh those things up, (he has) a young family, we respect that and there's no pressure to do anything other than what he needs to for his family."

Given biosecurity measures on the chartered plane, it is expected Schofield would need to fly in with teammates in order to play rather than fly when required.

Simpson said there was a level of "anxiety" among the club as they grapple with the potential of being required to stay on the road for longer than four weeks if an exemption to return isn't granted or WA borders aren't re-opened.

He remained confident the AFL would tick off the request for clubs in hubs to have more staff after increased numbers at training and match day were communicated on Thursday.

Tagger Mark Hutchings will be on the flight east but is expected to miss all four games against Gold Coast, Brisbane, Port Adelaide and Adelaide.

He recently underwent a procedure on knee complaint that hadn't improved through rest and will be sidelined from full training for 3-4 weeks.

Oscar Allen is back in selection contention and eyeing Tom Hickey's back-up ruck role, however Jarrod Cameron remains some way off having just returned to full training after pubic bone stress.
