HAWTHORN faces a tough decision when it comes to Cyril Rioli this week but I have no doubt Jordan Lewis will take his place in the team on Saturday.

And, for the Sydney Swans, I'm expecting all three of Sam Reid, Heath Grundy and Nick Malceski to be available to play.

Rioli is the most interesting. We saw him run around in the VFL on the weekend and he didn't do a lot to show that he was at full pace. He didn't play a lot of the game, but that was already planned.

His match conditioning is the main issue because he hasn't played for three months. His hamstring's recovered, but mentally he'd be still worried about it.

I'm really not sure what the Hawks will do about Cyril. He's available to play but he hasn't really tested his injury at full capacity.

It's really up to Alastair Clarkson and the match committee to decide who they'd put out for him, knowing he's such an x-factor if he's in there.

As for Lewis, he's already said you'd have to cut off his corked leg for him not to play but he certainly wouldn't want to have any aggravation during the week.

The corked thigh happened when he collided with Matty Spangher on Saturday against Port Adelaide and saw him subbed out.

He has bleeding in the leg and it's quite low down on the thigh, so there's the risk that the bleeding does go down into the knee and causes stiffness, but corked thighs are so common that the clubs know how to look after them with ice and compression.

This week he'll be going lightly and hoping that no one runs into him at training but I'm sure he'll play.

As for the Swans, the good news for Reid is that he's already had that injury before.

The Swans knew about it and he really just aggravated an injury on which he was already going to have an arthroscope at the end of the season – a bit of a torn cartilage with some swelling in the knee.

Obviously he was pretty sore and had to be subbed out of the Swans' win over North Melbourne on Friday night so they have to be very careful with him this week.

The fact it's not a new injury is a positive, the Swans think he'll be right to go and he's certainly improving day by day.

Grundy jarred his left ankle quite badly and had to leave the ground because he couldn't put weight on it in the last quarter.

Again, it will be a quiet week for him because of swelling and strapping but they'll get him up to play.

We shouldn't forget Malceski is only in week three of his hamstring injury - he got though the game last week off the back off 13 days of rehabilitation but he didn't really have to extend himself.

He payed very sensibly, came on and off the ground, and had lots of massage.

In week three, he's still vulnerable to break down again and Sydney know that, but of course it's a Grand Final and there's no doubt he'll play. However he'll be getting a lot of work on the sidelines.
