The AFL wishes to advise the 2014 AFL Women’s Draft will be held in Melbourne tomorrow, Monday, May 19.

The Western Bulldogs and Melbourne Football Clubs will finalise their teams that will compete in the AFL Women’s Exhibition match on Sunday, June 29, at Etihad Stadium.

Players from throughout Australia were invited to nominate for the Draft. Each team will make 12 selections.

Western Bulldogs President Peter Gordon and Vice-President Susan Alberti will be in attendance with Sue presenting the Bulldogs guernseys. Melbourne captain Jack Grimes will present the Melbourne guernseys. 

AFL General Manager People, Customer and Community Dorothy Hisgrove said it was fantastic to see 284 players nominate for the Draft.

“The inaugural Women’s Exhibition Match was a great success last year and I look forward to seeing the best female football talent selected at the Draft playing in this year’s match in Round 15,” she said.

This is the second AFL Women’s Draft.
