BRISBANE Lions skipper Jonathan Brown will undergo scans on Monday to determine the extent of a potentially season-ending foot injury.

Brown is believed to have ruptured the plantar fascia in his left foot midway through the first quarter against St Kilda at the Gabba on Saturday night.

The extent of the problem will be revealed on Tuesday when the Lions receive the scan results.

The three-time premiership player appears certain to miss the Lions' clash with Richmond at the MCG on Saturday.

Brown, who will turn 32 in October, said on Sunday the injury wouldn’t influence his decision on his playing future.

Essendon's quest to arrest a two-game losing streak is set to be made more difficult with dashing defender Courtenay Dempsey suffering a hamstring injury.

Fellow Bombers backman Jake Carlisle could also be in doubt for the clash with West Coast at Etihad Stadium after an incident against Collingwood. Carlisle may come under Match Review Panel scrutiny for slamming Jarryd Blair's face into the ground from behind in the first quarter at the MCG on Sunday.

The Bombers' opponent this week, the Eagles, will monitor a quad injury to midfielder Matt Priddis, who was a late withdrawal for his side's clash with Gold Coast.

Carlton's hopes of remaining in the finals race have been dealt a blow with veteran tagger Andrew Carrazzo suffering another calf injury.

Blues teammate Zach Tuohy sustained a corked buttock against Freo but played on and later drilled two long goals.

Skipper Marc Murphy is set to come under scrutiny for a clash with young Docker Lachie Neale near the interchange gates during Saturday night's game at Etihad Stadium.

Murphy was coming off the ground just before quarter-time when he ran into Neale just next to the boundary line.

Neale was coming onto the ground and was unaware of Murphy's presence, with the contact forcing him to go back onto the interchange where he was attended to by trainers, before reemerging onto the ground and playing out the game.

Bulldogs livewire Luke Dahlhaus is thought to have a broken nose after receiving a knock in his side's gallant loss to the Sydney Swans.

The Dockers will have the chance to rest some sore stars when they host Greater Western Sydney at Patersons Stadium on Sunday.

Saints big man Rhys Stanley is believed to have sustained collarbone damage and concussion after landing heavily in a marking contest against the Lions.

Port Adelaide will face Geelong at Simonds Stadium on Saturday without utility Paul Stewart, who has suffered a season-ending broken wrist.

North Melbourne key defender Cameron Delaney (toe) was a late withdrawal from his side's game against Geelong and could also miss their must-win clash with Adelaide at AAMI Stadium on Sunday.

Gold Coast's hopes of posting a percentage-boosting win over Melbourne at Metricon Stadium on Saturday night will be tougher if they are without two key players.

Matt Shaw is suspected to have damaged the AC joint in his right shoulder after being strongly tackled by West Coast skipper Darren Glass, while hard man Campbell Brown could be in trouble for a bump on Eagle Blayne Wilson.

Demons veteran Aaron Davey could also be scrutinised for two simultaneous acts. As Greater Western Sydney captain Callan Ward attempted to baulk him, Davey stuck out his right hand and foot and made contact with both.
