WEST COAST might have endured a horror season on the field but the Eagles can still emerge with at least one prize from 2013.

Ruckman Nic Naitanui's last-gasp grab against North Melbourne in round eight has been named as one of three finalists for the overall 2013 Lifebroker Mark of the Year award.

Naitanui's mark and subsequent goal to win the game against the Kangaroos sent the Patersons Stadium crowd into raptures, but the moment will feature stiff competition from a goal-line screamer by Port Adelaide's Jay Schulz against Melbourne in round one, and Magpie Jamie Elliott's hanger against Port Adelaide in round 14.

The finalists for the 2013 British Paints Goal of the Year have also been announced, with several familiar names featuring.

Hawthorn star Lance Franklin's goal from the centre square against Collingwood in round three heads the list. Franklin received a handball from Ben Stratton, hurdled a Collingwood opponent and launched a long bomb that set the Hawks on the path to an important win.

Carlton's Andrew Walker, who won the 2011 Mark of the Year for his grab against Essendon, is in contention to add Goal of the Year to his trophy cabinet for his running goal against St Kilda in round seven.

And Gold Coast captain Gary Ablett's incredible snap from the boundary in round 10 against his old side Geelong rounds out this year's finalists.

Ablett's goal left Cats coach Chris Scott shaking his head in wonderment and drew a standing ovation from sections of the Simonds Stadium crowd.
