Fogarty had his left arm in a sling on Sunday morning and did not travel to the game with the Crows from their Gold Coast resort.

Elliott Himmelberg replaces him in Adelaide's side, in what will be the 198cm forward-ruck's first senior game since round 15 last year.

The Lions will go in as selected.

Fogarty's kicked three goals this season and is viewed as a key part of Adelaide's rebuild, particularly with Taylor Walker and Tom Lynch to both be on the wrong side of 30 by season's end.

Walker, in particular, has struggled this year, with the Crows winless through three rounds and fresh from consecutive hidings off Port Adelaide and Gold Coast, after a narrow round one loss to Sydney.

It's the latest bad news for Adelaide, which will be without young midfielder Jordan Gallucci for the rest of the season after he ruptured his left Achilles tendon at Friday's session

The Crows also lost Rory Atkins (shoulder) from last week's match, while Wayne Milera will miss the next couple of months recovering from a foot stress fracture.

Adelaide sensationally dropped All Australian Matt Crouch this week, with recruit Billy Frampton, inside midfielder Myles Poholke and debutant Shane McAdam all coming in.

The Lions are gunning for a third victory on the trot.
