UNDER-SIEGE Adelaide has received another blow with exciting youngster Wayne Milera ruled out for at least the next two months.
The 22-year-old complained of foot soreness following training on Thursday with scans later revealing a stress fracture.
He will undergo surgery on Friday afternoon and be replaced in the 26-man squad to face Gold Coast on Sunday by Myles Poholke.
"Imaging has shown Wayne has a stress fracture of the fifth metatarsal that requires surgery to ensure the best possible outcome," Crows head of science and medicine Steve Saunders said on Friday.
"Wayne is such an important team member and this setback is obviously disappointing.
"In the past he has proven to be a total professional with his rehabilitation and we look forward to seeing him work hard to optimise his recovery.
"Surgery is scheduled for this afternoon and as soon as Wayne has recovered from the operation, we will facilitate his travel to join the rest of the team on the Gold Coast if required."

In a midfield lacking pace in 2019, the injection of Milera was set to be a key pillar in the new-look Crows midfield under first-time coach Matthew Nicks in 2020.
Milera signed a five-year deal in February to remain at West Lakes until at least the end of 2025.
