THIS week’s Member of the Week is Forrest from WA. Forrest is the first Pet Member to be selected and we were lucky enough to be able to have a quick chat with him. Here is what he had to say.

When did you first join the Sydney Swans and what Membership did you hold in 2010?
2010 was my first year as a Member but I have been a supporter for quite some time. This year I signed up for a Pet Membership, and I was also part of the WA Supporters Group.

What do you like most about being a member?
I just can’t go past my Pet Member blanket. It keeps me warm on those chilly winter nights when I watch the mighty Swans play. I’ll definitely be wearing it on Tuesday afternoon when I watch the Melbourne Cup; Shocking and So You Think will be hard to beat.

What was your favourite moment in 2010? Describe why it was so good.
It was great to see John ‘Horse’ Longmire appointed Head Coach for 2011 after the retirement of Paul Roos. They are certainly big shoes to fill, but he has been around the Club for a long time and I am sure he will hit the ground running!

Who is your favourite Swans player?
Without a doubt Trent Dennis-Lane. Being from WA it was great to see him make the step up to senior AFL footy this year. I have no doubt that he will continue to grow under the guidance of the mighty ‘Horse.’

What do you like most about coming to Swans matches?
Unfortunately living in WA prevents me from getting to any home games, but that certainly does not stop me from watching the games on TV with my owners.

Any final words for the team?
The team showed this year that there is plenty of hope for the future. Let’s be first past the post in 2011!
