“We know altitude works so spending ten days over there to work very hard without the physical toll of playing a game will be extremely beneficial.”

The 27-year-old is averaging 30.0 disposals and a career high 1.3 goals per game and believes the camp will help sustain his output across the remaining rounds leading into the finals.

“I am looking at leveraging off the next 12 days to come back stronger and fresher.  This is an advantage and I am looking forward to taking maximising it.”

Buttifant, who has been the main architect for the club’s success training in high altitude over the last six seasons, will lead the four Magpies for the two weeks.

Listen to Buttifant describe the camp on CTV.

“We know the altitude training camp works for the boys,” Buttifant told CTV.

“The four players we are taking over have had very good responses in the past.  It’s an opportunity to top their fitness levels up again and get them ready for the second half of the season.”
