LAST TIME THEY MET
The Dockers slogged their way to an early lead as the Lions took some time adjusting to the slippery conditions at a rain-soaked Subiaco Oval.
Following a slender deficit at half-time, the Lions booted four goals in a sensational third quarter to take a nervous eight point lead into the final change.
Back-to-back goals midway through the final quarter all but sealed the Lions' fourth win on the road for 2009 by 15 points in a low scoring affair.
After a tough battle with Dockers defender Chris Tarrant, Lions Captain Jonathan Brown finished with four goals and took five contested marks in conditions not generally suited to players of his size.
Meanwhile, Daniel Rich continued his push for the AFL's Rising Star award with 31 disposals and 12 clearances in his first AFL match back at his old home ground.
Brownlow Medal Votes: 3 - D. Rich (BL), 2 - J. Brown (BL), 1 - K. Bradley (Fre).

Fremantle have never won at the Gabba in eight attempts.
Lions centre half-forward Jonathan Brown and Fremantle's Matthew Pavlich are currently ranked equal first in goals this season. The opposing Captains have each booted 24 goals in six matches to lead the race for the 2010 Coleman Medal ahead of Sydney's Daniel Bradshaw (23) and Lions full-forward Brendan Fevola (21).
Lions midfielder Simon Black has polled eight Brownlow Medal votes in his past four matches against the Dockers.
Fremantle have scored the second most points of any team in the competition so far in 2010. The Dockers have scored 672 points in six matches (averaging 112 points per game) to sit behind only Geelong (731). The Lions are ranked sixth overall with 570 points.
Lions Assistant Coach Adrian Fletcher played four seasons with Fremantle from 1998 to 2001. He won the Dockers' 1999 Club Champion award and Captained the Club in 2000 and 2001.
Meanwhile, Fremantle Assistant Coach Chris Scott is one of the Brisbane Lions' favourite sons having played 215 games with the Club throughout his 13-year playing career. He won the Lions' Club Champion award in 1998 and was a dual premiership player.
Current Dockers forward Des Headland also played 52 matches with the Lions - including the 2002 premiership - before heading home to Fremantle during the 2002 trade period.
Lions full-forward Brendan Fevola has booted a total of 596 goals throughout his career (575 with Carlton and 21 with the Lions). He needs four more goals to become just the 27th player in the history of the game to reach 600 goals.
