THERE weren't too many highlights for Fremantle in Monday night's slog against Geelong, but the curling, crafty goal from first-year midfielder Caleb Serong late in the piece will stick in the mind of Dockers fans.
The classy finish on his non-preferred left foot also caught the attention of the NAB AFL Rising Star judges, who have awarded the Fremantle youngster the round eight nomination for the end-of-year honour.

Serong, who was the club's No.8 pick at last year's NAB AFL Draft, gathered 22 disposals, had three clearances and laid seven tackles in the Dockers' 32-point loss to the Cats at Optus Stadium.
For much of the night he was matched up against Geelong superstar Patrick Dangerfield, who gathered 18 disposals and three tackles.
It was clearly Serong's best game in purple, with the 19-year-old showing his ability with more midfield time under coach Justin Longmuir.
Serong, who co-captained Vic Country last year and was drafted from the Gippsland Power in the NAB League, debuted in round four against Gold Coast, with his performance against the Cats eclipsing his previous best tally of 12 disposals in his first AFL appearance.

The Victorian was among three consecutive top-10 picks for the Dockers at last year's draft, with Hayden Young (pick No.7) and Liam Henry (No.9) also joining the club's stocks.
The trio are considered central to Fremantle's future alongside their 2017 top-five pairing Andrew Brayshaw and Adam Cerra.
