Collingwood will honour the 1958 premiership team with a presentation on the ground prior to Sunday’s clash with the Bulldogs at Telstra Dome, with a reunion dinner to follow at the MCG on Monday night.

It’s 50 years since the great 1958 team denied Melbourne four straight flags, protecting the Magpies’ record streak of four consecutive premierships between 1927-1930, and securing Collingwood’s 13th flag in the process.

The 1958 heroes were led magnificently in the grand final by Murray Weideman in the absence of injured skipper Frank Tuck. Both men will be in attendance this weekend to lead 18 of the 20 players from that 1958 team onto the Telstra Dome turf, with a total of 29 players from that year in attendance.

Earlier this year they became only the second team to be inducted into the Collingwood Hall of Fame.
