Held at Gosch’s Paddock on Monday afternoon, producers and directors had to battle Melbourne’s blaring sun in order for the light to be considered perfect for the shoot. Makeup artists, local police, media, producers, directors, supporters and players turned it into a proper Hollywood production.
The commercial promotes Collingwood’s membership campaign ‘March to October’ as the entire cast was shot marching from Gosch’s Paddock to the MCG.
It features an array of Magpie stars led front and centre by skipper Nick Maxwell and the club’s 15th premiership cup. The support cast could star at any club with Alan Didak, Heath Shaw, Scott Pendlebury, Darren Jolly, Dane Swan and Steele Sidebottom taking part.
The commercial will be aired on Australian television in early 2011 in a bid to build the Magpie Army to 60,000 members.

Nick Maxwell spoke to the media before the shoot commenced.

Paul Licuria interviews Steele Sidebottom and Scott Pendlebury on stage in front of the 2,000 strong crowd.

Victoria's finest were on hand just in case the club needed a few more supporters to make up the numbers.

Licuria, Darren Jolly and Heath Shaw share a laugh (note Jolly and Shaw are sporting the new 2011 premiers guernsey).

Gosch's Paddock was turned into a Hollywood set for the afternoon.

The sun was the main issue on the day, everyone thought they were the next Scorsese.

Nick Maxwell and the 15th premiership cup set the scene for the first act of the television commercial.

Two Magpie twins proudly showed off their love for the black and white.

With the sun setting, the Magpie Army closed the commercial with a march from Gosch's Paddock to the gates of the MCG.
