This band is attracting a lot of talk a round town, Strange Talk.

A New Wave band from Melbourne they released their debut self-titled EP this time last year and by September they had a #1 in the US on the Billboard so-called ‘Unchartered’ Chart with debut single ‘Climbing Walls’.

Fair effort to go from a bedroom studio in Melbourne to the middle of the Mojave desert in California shooting a film clip on an over-sized chess board with just your debut release!

But it’s not all about the studio for these young electro-pop artists. Strange Talk followed the release of ‘Climbing Walls’ with sixty live shows in three months, selling out venues all across the land and saw them opening for internationals such as Foster The People and The Rapture, and playing Festival sets at Parklife, Good Vibrations and Falls Festivals.

At its heart Strange Talk is DJ/Producer Gerard Sidhu and former Australian Youth Orchestra classical violinist Stephen Docker who is so passionate about pop that he has lyrics tattooed across his forearms. They’ve also successfully re-mixed artists including The Black Eyed Peas.

Strange Talk are writing their debut album now in a studio in a farm in regional Victoria, taking the occasional break to play kick-to-kick. You can’t help but feel that this band’s career is heading right between the big sticks!

Strange Talk will play at Etihad Stadium on Saturday night (12 May) at the Essendon v West Coast game as part of Live at the Footy.
