COLLINGWOOD has welcomed two new players to its premiership list, with the paperwork completed on deals for Sandover Medallist Andrew Krakouer and 203cm ruckman John Ceglar.

The Pies gained those players from Gold Coast and have also received three late selections in next month's NAB AFL Draft - picks 55, 78 and 95.

However, the club has parted with its first-round selection at No.25 to put the Suns, who have nine of the first 15 picks, in an even stronger draft position.

Under its recruiting concessions, Gold Coast was able to pre-list Krakouer (Swan Districts) and Ceglar (Murray Bushrangers).

Krakouer played 102 games for Richmond before he was delisted at the end of 2007. The 27-year-old, who spent 16 months in a West Australian prison, was named the WAFL competition's best and fairest player for 2010 and was a key member of Swan Districts' premiership side.

Ceglar represented Vic Country in this year's NAB AFL Under-18 Championships after nominating for the 2009 national draft.

Collingwood recruiting manager Derek Hine said he expected the pair to have an impact at the club.

"They are two players in different stages of their careers but they both complement specific areas within the club," Hine told collingwoodfc.com.au.

"We looked quite comprehensively at players who we felt would not only meet our short needs but also our long-term development objectives."

Hine said the club had been encouraged by Krakouer's emergence as an elite stoppage player, while Ceglar suited its ruck succession plan.

"He really is a completely different player and has developed an outstanding inside game," he said of Krakouer.

"We see him as taking our midfield and forward structures to another level.

"There is no doubt that he has been the best-performed player outside the AFL and we are delighted that we were able to facilitate the trade."

Ruckman Josh Fraser joined Gold Coast before Thursday's 2pm deadline, with the League to confirm a compensation pick for the Pies.
