FORWARD Steve Johnson has completed a miraculous recovery from a knee injury, being named in an unchanged Geelong team to play Collingwood in Saturday's AFL Grand Final.

The Magpies will also go into the game as named, with suspect pair Darren Jolly (groin) and Ben Reid (groin) both included in the final team.

Alex Fasolo, who replaced injured midfielder Dayne Beams (groin) in the team on Thursday, will start as Collingwood's substitute, while Mitch Duncan will wear the green vest for the Cats.

Johnson, 28, had been under a fitness cloud after injuring his knee in the final quarter of the Cats' preliminary final win over West Coast last weekend.

The 2007 Norm Smith medallist was cleared of structural damage and trained in a hyperbaric chamber throughout the week in a bid to hasten the healing process.

He completed a fitness test with the aid of a painkilling injection on Friday morning, and told reporters he was "99 to 100 per cent" certain he would take his place in the team to play the Magpies.

However, the club didn't make a final call on Johnson until Saturday morning.

Jolly and Reid both trained during the week and declared themselves certain starters for the decider at the Grand Final Parade on Friday.
