The Bombers now have 8 wins and 5 losses, and must prepare for some crucial matches in the coming weeks against the Kangaroos, the Tigers, and the Eagles. The Bombers are still very much in contention for the finals but they have not managed to triumph against any of the major contenders.
Hird once again played some great football along with the likes of Lloyd and McPhee, but with little support from other players. Hird was damaging in the midfield but when moved forward to rest the Bombers lacked the drive needed in the centre. The Bombers did have injuries to Wellman and Fletcher leaving the defence under pressure but the area most lacking was runners in the midfield.
Lloyd kicked 5 goals to continue his good form and a chance of another Coleman Medal. Hird, Hille, Murphy, McPhee and Haynes all kicked a goal each, but no player stepped in with the much needed 2 or 3 goals. Let's see what a weeks break does for the Bombers.
