The devotion of the West Coast Eagles supporters was evident on the ANZAC long weekend, with the club’s NSWAFL partner the East Coast Eagles joining our fans in rallying around the team as they headed interstate.

West Coast Eagles chief executive Trevor Nisbett, along with East Coast Eagles chairman Gus Seebeck, kicked off the weekend by welcoming supporters to a pre-match function celebrating the tenth year of the groundbreaking West Coast and East Coast Eagles partnership on Friday night.

Held at the new AFL Stadium at Blacktown Olympic Park, the event provided a great opportunity for members of both clubs to strengthen their relationship and watch East Coast Eagles as they went down by seven points in a nail-biter against Sydney University.

The action then moved to the SCG on Saturday night, where enthusiastic supporters converged on the Don Bradman Terrace for the West Coast Eagles v Sydney Swans post-match function.

The West Coast squad was greeted by droves of fans from NSW, Victoria and those who travelled all the way across the Nullarbor from WA to cheer on the boys.

West Coast Eagles board member Alan Cransberg, football manager Neale Daniher and CEO Trevor Nisbett attended the uplifting reception, mingling with the passionate Eagles supporters.

Josh Kennedy and Matthew Priddis addressed the crowd, giving them insights on the on field play, while Nic Naitanui proved a hit with fans seeking signatures and photographs for bragging rights back home.

Debutant Lewis Stevenson also relished the opportunity to share the post-match function with his family and staunch West Coast supporters after his first game in Eagles colours.

Undoubtedly, with the loyalty shown by fans at interstate matches the West Coast Eagles relationship with the eastern states will continue to flourish and develop well into the future.
