Proudlove was on his way home to Albany during the WAFL bye weekend on Friday, July 15 when he was involved in what has been described as a freak crash involving three other vehicles. The 19-year-old was a passenger in a car that hit a tree and was the only person involved to sustain injuries. He was airlifted to Perth that night where he remains in an induced coma.
The Proudies Foundation has been set up between the Claremont Football Club and the Great Southern Football community to assist the Proudlove family with the costs of their son’s care.
“With a serious accident like this comes costs and we think its part of football clubs and the footy community to band together in a tough situation, and that’s exactly what we’re doing,” says Claremont Football Club manager Dean Horsington.
“He’s still in a critical condition, in a coma in ICU, so he is still not in a good way and the road to recovery is unknown. We know its going to be a long road for Warrick and his family.”
To help the Proudies Foundation raise as much funding as possible, the West Coast Eagles have proudly donated a guernsey and football, both signed by the entire West Coast Eagles squad, to be auctioned off at upcoming Proudies Foundation fundraising events.
