Precautionary scans have cleared Melbourne ruckman Jeff White of serious damage to his eye and the club expects White to be available for Sunday's NAB Cup clash with Hawthorn.White was injured when he collected an errant elbow during the Demons' intra-club match at Telstra Dome on Tuesday.Earlier, Melbourne assistant coach Paul Williams said the club would take no chances with White, who suffered serious facial injuries in a sickening accident with Geelong ruckman Steven King in the 2005 finals series."At this stage it just looks like he's got a black eye. He needs to get some precautionary scans. As I said, if he's right he'll play, if he's not he won't for sure," said Williams."But it's just an unfortunate knock. But I think he's going to be fine, there's nothing serious but it's just some precautionary stuff.""We've got to make sure we take care of the big fella, make sure he's right for the right part of the year."Star trio Aaron Davey, Brock McLean and Travis Johnstone did not take part in the Demons' four by 12-minute-quarter scratch match, but are given some chance of facing the Hawks on Sunday.Amongst the absentees will be Clint Bartram, who has had a limited pre-season after post-season surgery on the ankle he injured in round 22 last year, Colin Sylvia (groin) and super-goal specialist Paul Wheatley (ankle).
