Recruiting manager Scott Clayton tells westernbulldogs.com.au about the club's three selections in Saturday's national draft

Draft summary:
"We went tall today not for the sake of it but [because] their names were right – they’ve got to have the right names and we think Jordan Roughead and Liam Jones have got long careers ahead of them."

Selection 14: Ayce Cordy – father/son
Geelong Falcons, Vic, Ruckman, August 6, 1990, 203cm, 77kg.
“Ayce is over 200cm and he’s going to be a forward/ruckman who has very good ball skills. He was an elite basketballer so he’s got those basketball moves and steps and clean hands.

"He’s a good kick and he’s a terrific young man who is very competitive.”

Selection 31: Jordan Roughead
North Ballarat, Vic, Ruckman, November 3, 1990, 199cm, 87kg
“Jordan’s a ruckman who will end up [over 200cm] but he’s still young and he still has a lot to learn. He has developed really quickly over the last 12 months and has come a long way in that time.

"Jordan is the cousin of Jarryd (Hawthorn).”

Selection 32: Liam Jones
Tassie Mariners, TAS, Tall forward, February 2, 1991, 192cm, 84kg
“Liam is a Tasmanian boy who is boarding at Scotch College in Melbourne and his father Bob played for St Kilda.

"A potential key position player but had a knee injury this year after being in the AIS squad that toured South Africa. He needs a lot of development but has enormous upside if given time.”
