AFL Executive General Manager Clubs and Broadcasting Travis Auld said he thanked everyone for their understanding as the league confirmed the updated fixture for Round 21 of the 2021 Toyota AFL Premiership Season.

“Geelong will host the GIANTS on Friday night at GMHBA Stadium after the Western Bulldogs vs. Essendon match was moved to Sunday to enable adequate days’ break,” Mr Auld said.

“The West Coast Eagles vs. Melbourne match, previously scheduled for Saturday will now take place on Monday night at Optus Stadium. This allows for Melbourne to travel to Perth today and serve their quarantine period before the game as approved by the Western Australian Government.

“We are also pleased to confirm Showdown 50 between the Adelaide Crows and Port Adelaide will take place at Adelaide Oval.

“The St Kilda vs. Sydney Swans Pride Game, which builds on each club’s connection and commitment to the LGBTIQA+ community, will be played on Saturday after previously being scheduled to be played on Sunday.

“There are plenty of key match-ups in Round 21 that will shape the top eight as we near the completion of the home-and-away season.

“While the fixture for the 2021 Toyota AFL Premiership Season remains a week-to-week proposition, we will continue to make changes that best navigate the current environment, progresses our season and helps protect the health and safety of those in our game and the wider community.”

Further information relating to crowds and ticketing for Round 21 will be communicated as soon as those details are finalised.
