PORT Adelaide captain Travis Boak has jumped into the top 40 in the Official AFL Player Ratings, brought to you by Vero, after his brilliant performance against Hawthorn at AAMI Stadium on Saturday.

The 24-year-old collected 34 possessions against the Hawks (eight more than any other player on the ground), and he also recorded the most contested possessions (13) and inside 50s (seven) in the match.

Those figures equated to a player ratings score of 23.2.

Boak ranks equal second in the competition for inside 50s this season, equal 16th for clearances and seventh for score assists.

Still, he did not finish with the highest player ratings score of the weekend.

Instead, three Collingwood players were the best performers in round 16.

Scott Pendlebury, who amassed 42 disposals (16 contested) in the Magpies' win over Adelaide at the MCG on Friday night, recorded the round's top tally of 29.5 points.

The score enabled Pendlebury to leap-frog Hawthorn's Cyril Rioli into sixth place on the overall player ratings ladder. .

Luke Ball (27) and Dane Swan (26.7) had the second- and third-best scores of the weekend.

However, Collingwood forward Travis Cloke's wayward kicking meant he finished with one of the lowest scores of the round.

After booting only two goals from 11 shots and giving away four free kicks, Cloke's final score was -0.1 points.

But while Cloke had a weekend to forget, Brisbane Lions midfielder Pearce Hanley enjoyed his second consecutive best on ground performance.

Hanley was the Lions' dominant force in their win over North Melbourne at the Gabba on Saturday.

He finished the game with three goals, seven inside-50s and 509 metres gained, which equated to 25.3 ratings points.

Only Pendlebury has outscored Hanley in the past two weeks.

Having started the season at 104 on the player ratings table, he has jumped up to 47 and is now rated the third best player at the Lions.

Gold Coast captain Gary Ablett remains the top-rated player in the AFL.

Adelaide's Patrick Dangerfield is second and Essendon skipper Jobe Watson is third.

Hawthorn duo Lance Franklin and Jarryd Roughead remain the top two forwards.

West Coast's Shannon Hurn is the top-rated defender and his Eagles teammate Nic Naitanui is the No. 1 ruckman.
