The AFL is pleased to announce local Fremantle indie-pop band San Cisco will perform a pre-match show ahead of the 2021 Toyota AFL Preliminary Final match between Melbourne and Geelong Cats on Friday.
Throughout their illustrious ten-year career, San Cisco has become one of Australia's most successful independent artists amassing multiple accolades, millions of streams and critical acclaim through the release of four studio albums, including the band's recent album ‘Between You and Me' which was released in late 2020.
The trio has also been successful internationally, touring the world selling out headline shows and appearing at festivals such as Splendour In The Grass, Lollapalooza and Reading & Leeds.
In addition to the pre-match entertainment, football fans who arrive early to the match can enjoy a special offer of $3 pastries including pies and sausage rolls between 3:45pm – 4:45pm (AWST), inside the venue.
AFL Executive General Manager Customer and Commercial Kylie Rogers said the pre-match entertainment was a great opportunity to highlight local talent ahead of an exciting Preliminary Final.
"We know how much talent Western Australia has produced both on and off the field, so we're looking forward to showcasing some of its great musical talent with San Cisco performing at our pre-match entertainment show," Ms Rogers said.
"With a big crowd expected, we're encouraging fans to get to the game early and soak up all the finals action and great food offers available ahead of what is set to be a thrilling Preliminary Final match."
Gates will open at 3:45pm (AWST), with San Cisco's pre-match performance to commence at 5:15pm (AWST), ahead of the opening bounce at 5:50pm (AWST).
