AFL Statement

The AFL is pleased to announce Kayo Sports will stream all 2022 AFL Pre-Season Practice Matches exclusively live to be played across Wednesday, February 23 – Saturday, February 26.

Each team will participate in one pre-season practice match scheduled by the AFL. These match-ups are listed below and will see teams decide on the format of each game including number of players, number of quarters and quarter length.

AFL Head of Broadcasting and Scheduling Marcus King said these practice matches play an important role for both AFL Clubs and supporters.

"We're pleased to partner with Kayo which will see all pre-season practice matches streamed live in 2022," Mr King said.

"Our two objectives for pre-season practice matches are to give clubs the best opportunity to prepare ahead of the AAMI Community Series and to take matches to supporters in local and regional communities where possible.

"The practice matches will see football played around the country, including at regional and suburban venues such as Lavington Oval in Albury and Morwell Recreation Reserve, where fans will be able to watch their teams in action in their own backyard."

Kayo Chief Executive Officer, Julian Ogrin said:

"Kayo is the go-to destination for AFL fans with every match of every round plus the best shows and entertainment all week long. And now fans will get more of the action with every pre-season practice match exclusively live on Kayo for the first time."

La Trobe City Council Mayor Cr Kellie O'Callaghan said:

"We can't wait to welcome AFL back to the Morwell Recreation Reserve this month, especially after the challenges we've faced over the past two years. It will be a fantastic free event for our community to be part of, while also showcasing the high standard of sporting facilities we have on offer in Latrobe City."

Albury City Mayor Kylie King:

"We're thrilled to be hosting the Swans and Giants and are really looking forward to bringing people together after a tough few years through the pandemic. This is a great opportunity to kick off 2022 with a major sporting event that will not only delight fans, but also inject a much-needed boost into the local economy while also showcasing our stadium and city to audiences around the nation."
