DREW Petrie was probably a little lucky to receive a free kick deep in a forward pocket after going to ground fairly easily in a tussle with Tayte Pears during the first term, but there was nothing fortunate about his finish.

The big Roo forward ran out to improve the angle and slotted a brilliant snapped goal to help his team off to an excellent start against the Bombers at Etihad Stadium.

He was polite enough to then go over and thank Tayte for the free too.
