Retail Sales and Customer Service (Traineeship) - Hawthorn Football Club

AFL SportsReady is currently looking for an energetic and highly motivated retail trainee to join our team at the Hawthorn Football Club on a full time basis.

We are looking for someone who has recently completed Year 12 and wanting to pursue a career in the sports retail industry. 

The successful applicant will be legally employed by AFL SportsReady, but will work on-site with the Hawthorn Football club and receive an accredited Retail qualification (on successful completion).

Reporting to the Victorian retail manager the purpose of this role will be to support the development of the Hawthorn Football Club as part of their retail team. 


Customer Service

  • Answer all enquiries in a friendly and timely manner
  • Make fans feel welcome and deliver on Hawthorn's mission statement
  • Engage with fans, members, community and internal stakeholders

Retail Operations

  • Assist with merchandising, inventory control and customer service
  • Ensure the store's presentation is of the highest standard at all times

Match Day

  • Assist at match day retail outlets when required
  • Assit with reconciling stock against sales


  • Other activities and projects as reasonably directed

  • Valid Health Care Card
  • Proficient in RMS (inventory management tool)
