Scans this morning have confirmed that Brisbane Lions midfielder Richard Hadley requires a second knee reconstruction in the space of 12 months.

Hadley has ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament in the same knee as at the corresponding time last year.

The 22-year-old hurt the knee again in the opening minutes of the Suncoast Lions’ match against Zillmere yesterday afternoon, the curtain-raiser to the seniors match against Collingwood.

The surgery is yet to be scheduled.

Lions medical staff will not have a diagnosis on the condition of Nigel Lappin’s ankle injury until tomorrow.

Lappin limped off during the second quarter of the Lions’ 17-point NAB Regional Challenge match against Collingwood last night.
