The Power Community Youth Program (CYP) is gearing up for Term 4.

With the Power players back from their end of season breaks, it means we can head out into the schools of Adelaide once again. CYP is a program that the Power has been running for over 10 years now. It involves Power players, as well as Thunderbird (netball) and Lightning (basketball) athletes visiting schools in Adelaide, as well as regional towns around SA, discussing important issues that have helped them get to where they are today as elite athletes.

Topics discussed include the importance of eating healthy, staying active, and learning about the dangers of cigarettes. Kids also get the chance to get autographs and even ask the players a few questions.

Schools that are lucky enough to get a visit this term include Gulfview Heights PS, Enfield PS and Salisbury Heights PS. We visit over 100 schools and speak to over 30,000 students every year, so who knows, we may be seeing you soon!

If you’d like your school to participate in the Power Community Youth Program in the future just mention it to your teacher - they can email a request for a visit to atuckfield@pafc.com.au

In the meantime, the boys have come back fresh and are ready to go on the training track and in the classroom as well!
