In this, the 10th year since Port Adelaide claimed its historic 2004 premiership, the club again faces the opposition against which it scored that famous victory – the Brisbane Lions. The Power suffered their first loss of the season last weekend against North Melbourne and it was a loss that claimed at least one key player (Angus Monfries) to injury. After losing the QClash for the first time since 2011, the Lions will be desperate to respond but must do so without two key players – Daniel Rich (injured) and Daniel Merrett (suspended).

THE SIX POINTS
1. These two sides clashed for the 2004 premiership with the Power securing their first AFL flag. Byron Pickett was adjudged best afield and took out the Norm Smith Medal.

2. The Lions are struggling to find the football in 2014, averaging just 333 disposals a game (17th in the league). Port Adelaide is sixth with 365 a game.

3. The Lions are also struggling to score; after three matches their average score is only 73 points per game; only Collingwood and Melbourne have scored fewer points in 2014.

4. In 28 contests between the sides the Lions hold a narrow advantage, winning 14 games to Port Adelaide’s 12 with two draws.

5. The Power are ranked equal-third so far in 2014 for marks inside 50, averaging 13.3 per game, while the Lions are 13th with 8.7.
