THIS year's leading draft prospects will take the field on Friday at GMHBA Stadium as the NAB AFL Under-18 championships go up a gear.

Vic Metro will play the Allies, starting at 10.30am local time, before the unbeaten Vic Country line-up will face South Australia, with that game beginning at 1pm.

Vic Metro will be favoured to beat the winless Allies line-up, particularly given their midfield contains the two prospects fighting it out to be the No.1 choice – best mates Matt Rowell and Noah Anderson.

The Allies have been well led by midfielder and GWS Academy prospect Tom Green in the carnival so far, while Tasmanian midfielder Mitch O'Neill has been consistent.

Caleb Serong and Hayden Young have so far been standouts for the Vic Country line-up, which had the bye last weekend.

South Australia will welcome back important forward Cameron Taheny from injury for the contest, while midfielder Dylan Stephens and defender Will Gould will be keen to bounce back after last week's defeat to Vic Metro.
