Ian Cooper took one of the greatest marks ever seen on the half forward line. Cooper's mark was the defining moment of the game. The Saints kicked a goal & went on to win the game, doubling Melbourne's score inflicting their worst defeat in 10 years. Norm Smith got the sack and Melbourne never made the finals again until the 1980's after 7 flags in 11 years & we made our 1st GF in 52 years. That Cooper mark was the exact moment in Melbourne's slide to oblivion.
