WEST Coast midfielder Koby Stevens is believed to have signalled his intention to join the Western Bulldogs.

The 21-year-old Victorian, who played 11 games in three seasons with the Eagles, chose the Bulldogs as his new home after considering offers from Essendon and St Kilda.

A deal will now have to be negotiated during Gillette AFL Trade Period.

Stevens, a hard-bodied onballer, will add to a developing Bulldogs midfield that already includes long-term prospects Mitch Wallis, Tom Liberatore, Luke Dahlhaus and Clay Smith.

Stevens and fellow tough nut Smith hail from the same junior club,  Lucknow in Gippsland. Both also graduated to the Gippsland Power in the TAC Cup under-18 competition, although two years apart.

The No. 23 selection in the 2009 NAB AFL Draft, Stevens made his AFL debut for the Eagles in 2010, when he played five games in the latter part of the season.

He has played just six games in the past two seasons, with his most recent AFL game being in round 16 this year.

Stevens has been a strong performer in the WAFL with East Fremantle.
