MELBOURNE players arrived for recovery, still in a state of shock, after their 79-point demolition at the hands of Port Adelaide.

Sunday's debutants Jack Viney and Jimmy Toumpas were among the first to arrive at the club's AAMI Park facility on Monday.

In fact, Viney was at the club almost an hour before a scheduled 9am recovery session.

Jack Watts, who managed just seven touches against the Power, admitted the team was still "pretty stunned, pretty embarrassed," as he walked from the car park.

But Watts wouldn't shed any light on the post-game meeting that lasted some 30 minutes and saw Viney, among others, address the group.

"Nah, that's for the players, it was behind closed doors," Watts said.

He said the Demons needed to "turn around a bit of mind-set."

"Six days' time we get to go out against Essendon and give it another chance."

Having just returned from a nine-month layoff, Mitch Clark put to rest any fears of another injury setback and said he would be right to play next week.

Clark suffered an ankle scare when he became entangled with Port's Jackson Trengove in a contest near the boundary line during the third quarter of the loss.
